After finishing my A320 Type Rating with Jetline in December, everything started moving very quickly. The training itself was intense but also a very rewarding experience. Transitioning into the Airbus environment was a big step, especially adapting to airline procedures, SOPs, and the fast-paced workflow during simulator sessions. The instructors at Jetline were very supportive throughout the whole process and helped create a professional environment that prepared us well for the next stage.
Shortly after completing the Type Rating, I found an opportunity to start flying on the A320, which was a great feeling after all the hard work during training. I then started the OCC with the Airline in April till May, which lasted around one month and helped me adapt from the training environment into real airline operations and company procedures.
In May, I officially started flying operations as a First Officer on the A320. The beginning of line training has been an amazing experience so far. Every flight is a new learning opportunity and each sector helps me gain more confidence and operational experience. Based in Germany, I am now flying to different destinations across Europe, which is something I had worked towards for many years.
My first flights with passengers on board were definitely unforgettable moments. There is always some pressure and responsibility in the beginning, but the support from the training captains and crew members has made the transition into airline life much smoother. One of the biggest differences compared to simulator training is seeing how dynamic real operations are, especially dealing with weather, ATC, turnaround times, and daily operational situations.
Looking back, completing my Type Rating with Jetline was an important step in starting my airline career. The training gave me a strong foundation for airline operations and prepared me well for the transition onto the line. Now beginning my career on the A320 and building experience every day is something I am very grateful for, and I am excited for what comes next.
