Many airline recruit Type rated first officer even if they the have no hours on type. And even better, often you can apply even if they indicate in the job advertisement that i.e. 500 hours on type are required. This means they recruit but absolutely DO NOT want pilots with no valid type rating or even just an CPL ME-IR.
